Self-Reflection

One's ability to grow is directly reflected by their ability to self-reflect.... This statement seems so straightforward to me. That is until you dig deep into the depths of it and find yourself reflecting on how the person you are upset with for a particular behavior is actually one you've allowed and contributed to creating. I am not referring to extreme situations here... I'm more speaking of the people pleaser behavior that you've enabled and now as you are setting boundaries creates uncomfortable situations. It's owning the part in you that got you to where you are today and how you played a direct role in creating the situation. It's both liberating and difficult to swallow all at the same time. From someone who needs to take their own advice, give yourself grace as you move out of whatever behavior or situation it is you are working to change. The path to wherever it is you are going is likely a windy path and if you are able to get there in one straight show - celebrate! And if you are on the windy road with many crossroads, celebrate the victories and junctions along the way!
